Merry Christmas From Me…

As every year passes the holidays seem to fly by a lot quicker as do the years. This year maybe it’s because Thanksgiving was so late in the month but Christmas is already here. It’s weird as it didn’t really feel like Christmas until about 2am this morning when I realized that in a little over 12 hours I would be surrounded by the large side of my family with plenty of food, drinks and people around. Maybe it’s because I no longer work in a environment where I am constantly dealing with people shopping or looking for the perfect present that the holiday sneaks up on me. Maybe it’s also this year my sister and I didn’t travel to SF to shop because we actually finished somewhat early and did a lot through online stores. It was even more weird as yesterday, Christmas Eve, I locked myself out my house and realized somehow no one had my key. No wallet, no keys, just my phone, I felt pretty helpless. Thankfully a locksmith got me in quickly but not after a few hours of calling, getting picked up and trying to figure out a cheaper way around the situation. But that didn’t make my Christmas spirit lower as it didn’t kick in yet. Even through dinner with my Dad’s, my Japanese side, my much smaller side it didn’t kick in. As even when handing and receiving gifts it just seemed off. Maybe it’s just a part of growing older but I don’t think so. I think it was just me this year. Next year I will get into the spirit earlier and change the channel to Mix 96.1 right after Thanksgiving to listen to Holiday music for a whole month. Regardless I am in the Christmas mood now. So Merry Christmas to you and yours from me. I hope you were able to enjoy it and be surrounded by people special enough to be a part of your lives. I hope it was/is filled with food, drinks, fun, laughter and new memories to be had. Sorry for my long run-on, one paragraph mindless thought.

I love Christmas…
